Delicious beer. Thick and oily mouthfeel and appearance. Taste of brown malt, cacao and coffee. Has a slightly spicey touch, with some hops as well. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of dark grains, dark chocolate and an underlying roastiness. Flavor has creamy chocolate with dark grains and some growing roasted malts with a light bitterness.

Bottle purchased 10/2013 and opened 6/2014. Nearly black in color with a large brown head. Nice and creamy leaving light bits of lacing. Strong nose of roast, ash, and dark chocolate. Silky mouthful and more or less a light heavyweight… good balance of flavors with roast, dark chocolate, faint bitters, and minimal licorice. Solid brew.

Dark brown, aroma is toasty, slight molasses, and a dash of brown sugar. Fairly full body, sweet, rounded sugars, dash of molasses, the alcohol helps to dry out the palate. Good, drinkable impy.

Bottle from Bottleworks, Seattle
Black color with medium sized brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, burnt paper, liquorice, light anise, leather, black pepper, firewood; quite an adventure. Very smooth mouthfeel, round; strong flavor of roasted malts, some coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, salt; strong bitterness too; dark biscuity feeling too.
Well constructed.

Bomber bought through craftbeer.se. 8,8% version. Pours reddish brownish black with a rather big creamy, frothy and tiny fizzy dark chocolate brown head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny sweet and malty with roasted malts, heavy bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, liquorice fudge, burnt wood, dried pine needles, moist soil, caramel, soot and subtle hints of banana bread and burnt cookies. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, caramel, liquorice fudge, bitter chocolate, moist soil, pine needles, hay, burnt cookies, heavy dark roast coffee, burnt wood and hints of vanilla fudge, alcohol, soot and cocoa powder. Mouthfeel is round, soft, silky, roasted astringent and near full bodied. finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, moist soil, dried pine needles, burnt wood, soot and smoldered hay. Very impressed with this one. Great "basic" imperial stout.
