Sovereign, tap: murky pale with a white head. Aroma is funky, fruity, weird. Taste is like a funky Belgian ale. Not sour but has some oomf. Hard to explain. Good though.

Bottle at La Tana a Bruxelles. Pours clear amber. Aroma is saison yeast, lots of herbs, pepper, fennel, ginger. Body is medium, lots of oils, herbal and spicy, hot towards to palate, low carbonation. Palate is rather sweet. Good but strange.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle, likely 2009 or 2010. Aroma has some light malt notes with some grain and faint caramel and honey notes. Medium light citrus notes with hints of tropical fruit and melon. Light white wine and grape notes. Pours a fairly clear, bright gold color with a small, thin, forc d white head that disappears immediately. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with light grain, honey and sugar notes. A light acidity. Some citrus notes as well as tropical fruit and melon. Faint white wine notes and green grapes. Medium floral and herbal notes that reminds me a but of gin. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with almost no carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer but some carbonation would help it a lot. It’s very flavorful with citrus, white wine, botanicals, etc.
