Different Spaghetti Western batches aged for six months in Grappa barrels. Armoa is rich and intense, recalling grape, coffee liquor and black cherries. Mouth is dry, body is light with a slight winey acidity.

Bottle. Black. Wood and grappa dominating the aroma. Initial licorice in the malty sweet flavor, but wood and grappa present themselves, though not as dominant as in the aroma. Lauwel in the finish. Nice.

Draught at Randolph DUMBO: pours black with beige head. Aroma is chocolate with a hefty bit of grappa barrell infuaed there. Grappa taste also permeates the taste. Somewhat sweet. Low bitterness. Not bad.

On tap. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of nougaty chocolate, cocoa powder and dry roasted malts. Flavors follow same, dry and powdery, with a subtle woody grappa presence. Beauty.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of licorice notes, molasses, plums, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of coffee, licorice notes, molasses, plums, very nice and smooth. Bottle at Mondial 2018.

Bought at Liquor Shed. Notes: 30 12 25, must be best by date. Also L 17085.
It pours black, served at room temperature, there is a big billowy head of tan foam. Loads of lacing too.
Big roasted and toasted malt aromas, substantial barrel nose, espresso brings bitterness along with the dark chocolate. Light sweetness going on.
Toasted malt and barrel big up front followed by roasted malt, espresso, dark chocolate. Bit of anise peeking through. Some warming and to me, it's a bit hotter than the abv suggests.
Medium bodied up front that thins out in the finish.
Overall, I dig it but not the price.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese. The label indicates 9.7%. Print is red rather than orange. Pours dark brown with a huge foamy tan head. Rather dark tan. Aroma of chocolate and grape. Near full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, grape, a very little coffee for me, and arguably some musty wood. Not to mention some darkish treacle. Much dryer than expected. There's a little heat. There's also something like grape must. The flavors are quite new for me - at least in this combination. It's quite nice, tho a bit "primitive".
