Can from HoTM. It pours darkest brown to black with a thick light tan. The aroma is roasted malt, bitter - sweet, liquorice alsorts, earthy, toasty, umami, fruity, dried fruits, currants, fruit loaf, plum, prune, charred and a touch of spice. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, charred wood, umami, liquorice, peppery spice, burnt toast, dried fruits, currant loaf, prune, plum, touch of treacle and a nip of alcohol with a roasty finish. Medium+ body and moderate foamy carbonation. Flavourful and robust. Nice one.

Pour is more of a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a slight roasted malt but I get more of a green herbal hop. Flavor is again a slight roast with more of a green hops and a minor ester from the yeast. This was decent and definitely silky like the can said.

Roast and coffee. Pretty nicely balanced. Dark chocolate. Dark brown pour with decent head and lacing. Bitter end. Nice and easy drinking.

Can. Dark mahogany beer with a dark tan head. Caramel and roast aroma with dark fruit. caramel and dark fruit flavor with light roast. Medium bodied. Dark fruit and caramel linger with light roast.

Can (9/1/20) pour from trade with Johnnnniee--thanks, John! Appearance is opaque black (dark brown at the bottom of the glass) with lots of light floaties, light sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width beige head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is smoky roasted malt, molasses with Belgian yeast. Taste is earthy roasted malt with hint of smoke, molasses and yeast. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with slick, smooth texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not complex but a really well-crafted, straightforward stout.

Pint can, WW. Pours dark brown, not quite black, with a small soft beige head. Roasted malt, caramel, dry chocolate, molasses nose. Flavor is quite similar to the nose, yet more molasses. Roasty, somewhat simple, but quite solid.
