The dark site of pleasure. Fine bitter, fresh and rich in taste. Thanks to dark superior malt that provides the amber colour and the elegant smoothness.

Bottled. Chewy, malty nose, with nice chocolate fudge and caramel. Brown with orange tints, medium head. Rather light and thin, a bit thinner than the nose leads one to suspect. Light body too. Not so special.

Bottle at home. Clear brown tea colored amber with white head. Dry bitter grains, roasted corncob, some caramel sweetness, sugarcane. Light sweet and over moderate ground bitterness. Under or about medium body, soft fizzy carbonation, clean mineral watery feel, yet also a bit malty. Quite bitter and grainy with a thin syruppy sweetness. Very good drinkable bitter ale. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dunkel on 09 Jan 2018 at 12:28 - Score: 6

High Wycombe House Warming. Thanks to Fergus. Clear amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is light and dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Mildly sweetish malts. A vague oxidised sort of caramel. Ripe fruits. Light dry finish. A little tiresome.

Bottle, 0.33l. Pours clear amber body with medium sized frothy off-white head. Decent head retention and ok lacing. Smell is simple but nice - malty, yeasty with a bit of caramel. Thin body with relatively high carbonation. Watery texture adds to the somewhat empty feel of this brew. Mildly bitter with messy aftertaste, sweet at first with metallic acidity taking over. Aroma is simple and plain, malts, yeast, corn, caramel and metal. Flat. Traces of roastiness. Dry finish with metallic bitternes lingering on the tongue. Overall, meh. Plain and boring.

Fyldig og kjeksaktig maltpreg, men slett ikke for søt. Faktisk meget god, typeriktig og drikkbar, men kanskje ikke så spennende.

Bottle at Colin’s. It pours clear deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet, bready, brown bread, malt loaf, sticky and dried fruits. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, tangy, dark fruits, berry, brown bread, dried fruits and earth with a dry, fruity finished. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent enough for style.

Standard 0,33 l swing top bottle. A nice bright amber in the glass with a huge frothy beige head. Decent malt on the nose. Taste starts with more malt, light toasted. Low hopy, some sweetness in the background. Getting dry to the end. Okay.
