Assertively yet gently hopped. Mightily roasty. Rich with velvety malts. An imposing Imperial Stout done Hiisi’s way.

A deep dark imperial stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, bitter sweet chocolate with coffee grind, light peated notes, musty character, very nice. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, burned toasts, licorice notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Bier-Bier.

Bottled at Cosmic Comic Café, Turku. Black, beige head. Licorice aroma. Sweet with full body and clean mouthfeel. Lots of salmiak and licorice, notes of pears. Mid bitter finish with some warmth. Simple but tasty.

Bottle at Kahdet kasvot. Opaque color, small brownish head. Aroma is toasted and coffeish. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Coffeish - some acidic coffee notes, roasted maltyness and some bitterness & alcohol in the aftertaste. Good brew but slight dissapointment after its reputation. Quite straightforward coffeish impy.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - erä #100 - BB 12/16, 20141216) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, burnt malts and pine. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, grass, burnt malts, ash, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A well done but a little bit too burnt brew.

Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, salty licorice, dark chocolate, coffee and cocoa. Taste is heavy, roasty and salty with loads of licorice, hints of dark chocolate and cocoa. Heavy but tasty imperial stout.

Aroma has cocoa, salty licorice and coffee notes. Saltiness is quite aggressive. Flavour has lots of salty licorice, some coffee and herbal tones. Perhaps also some peat. Way too much salty licorice here.
