[9/24/16] Bottle sample at hotel room tasting in Woerden. Thanks everyone for sharing! Dark brown with reddish hues. Caramel, chocolate, nuts. Sweet with a mildly bitterish finish. Rounded mouthfeel. Very nice.

Bottle. Brown color with amber highlight and beige head. Aroma is brown malts, earthy, nutty, some fruitiness, some roastiness. Taste is the same, quite rich. Medium carbonation. Very good!

Original review text: Cremig malziger Beginn, Aromen von Kaffee, Whiskey, etwas Vanille, holzig, milde trockene Bitterkeit. Komplexer Mittelteil mit zusätzlich starker Röstigkeit, dabei deutlich hopfig, was auch nötig ist, um in diesem starken Umfeld überhaupt erkannt zu werden. Trocken, Nuancen von Alkohol, röstig, etwas ledrig. Hinten raus etwas alkoholischer, weich bitter, mehr Espresso als Schokolade. Wow! 11/14/14/13/12/14

On tap Kitty?s Public House, Helsinki. Clear dark brown with a white head. Roasty aroma with notes of licorice, dark fruits and hints of chocolate. Medium sweet with medium flavour intensity and complexity and a fine bitterness. Easy to drink and quite enjoyable. A very dark brown beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has roastiness, coffee, liquirice and some milky sourness, notes of alcohol. Taste has roastiness, salt liquirice, quite strong and herbal-pine bitterness, also quite strong sweetness. The end is roasted with coffee, bitter and some salt liquirice. Medium+ bodied, slippery to drink. Good beer, but I expected more.

Draught@Black Door, Helsinki. Black colour, small white head. Aroma is toffee, liquorice, mild diacetyl (butter scotch), some alcohol, burnt sugar. The diacetyl suits in rather nicely. Flavour is chocolate, some liquorice, mild roasted notes as well as some burnt sugar and quite dry palate.

Draught @ SOPP Helsinki 2016. Very dark brown, small brown head. Aroma of licorice, alcohol, oak, roasted malt. Smell of roasted malt and alcohol. Lively carbon. Syrupy texture. Sweet and bitter.

Draft @ Brewdog, Helsinki. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is sweet milky chocolate. Taste is rich, smooth with some nice sweet moments. Very nice.
