Sold as Mr George’s Ruby Porter in the US due to trademark issues. A dark ruby beer with a rich flavour and spicy finish. The hop grist adds a hint of citrus to complement the roasted malt character. Dark, Delicious and Delectable.

[i] [b] Bottle, from Morrisons, 11-02-08 [/i] [/b] Poured dark brown with beige head (quite largeish head actually) some fruit and caramel on the nose, fruity flavours, with sweet dark malts, a bit of bitter chocolate and bitterness is ok if a little safe, ok.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Brilliant mahogany with a ring of tan head; rich fruit cake aroma; smooth and creamy with coffee and vanilla flavours, sweet then with a dark roasted malt woody dryness to the finish. Elegant and understated.

(Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown with a vaguely orange hue and a creamy, beige, cappuchinoish head leaving laces. Sweetish, roasted malt notes with some fruitiness. Medium body with sweetish, roasted malt notes and a lightly burned edge. There’s a whiff of salt in there. The finish is dry. A nice effort. 030707

Bottle at Chris_O bottlefest 2007. Having had this on cask I know what it is supposed to be like but this has been pasteurised and feels and tastes stripped of flavours and feel in the mouth. Decent dry malt but the rest isn’t great.

a dark browncoloured ale , with a light chocolaty taste and a bitter finish to it... Ok 2.3 was just cruel ... but im still not that impressed... copper brown ... thin tan head ... soft roast malt nose ... bitter metalic front ... little chocolate .

A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of spices and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of roasted malt and berries, leading to a dry slightly roasted end.
