(Cask at Edgar Wallace, London, 24 Nov 2010) Dark amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, orange, apricots, hints of sulphur and earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, apricots, a touch of sulphur and slightly earthy hops in a finish with a decent bitterness. Light body, fairly sweet. Well balanced and tasty.

500ml Bottle - Amber in colour. Fruity aroma with berries, dried fruit, spicy malt and caramel. The aroma also reminds me of Shandy Bass (Iโm getting nostalgic now!). Nicely balanced taste with fruity and hoppy notes vying for attention. The taste has notes of caramel, spicy malt, dried fruit and peach. An awful lot of flavour for the strength.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with some weak hoppy hints. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Clear amber color, small steady beige head. Caramelly, yeasty, nutty-fruity nose. Quite good body compared to 3.4%. Caramel, nutty hoppyness, resiny aftertaste. Simple bitter but it has lots of taste for being so low alcohol.

[500ml bottle from Tescoโs, Reading] Pours amber-red with a small beige head. Light yet prickly carbonation. Nice fresh aroma. Initial flavour is unfortunately that metal-and-cardboard flavour of a pasteurised beer (unusual for Adnams, who normally manage to avoid it). However, this is soon washed away by the classic Adnams malt. really nice malt in fact. Lots of biscuit, some caramel and a little roasted malt with a surprisingly dry and refreshing bitter finish. Short of Adnamsโ best; good effort for the low ABV though.

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a decent, off-white head. Fruity hops, some slighlty roasted, or bready, malts and some caramel on the nose. The flavor is on the sweet, malty side, with some bready, roasted hints, a little caramel and fruity hops. Low on bitterness. Quite thin on the palate. The finish has a decent bitterness. An easy drinkable session beer that might be a bit boring. (090328)
