Golden Pride is a premium, superior-strength bottled ale.

Brewed to 8.5% ABV, it is equivalent in strength to Belgian Abbey beer or barley wine, and is designed to be consumed in smaller measures than the traditional pint.

Golden Pride is known for its rich malty flavours, good balance, and notes of orange oil, toasted grain and spicy fruitcake. The late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, labelled it 'the Cognac of beers'.

Cask at Benny's Cask Ale Pub. Ambe color. Caramel, honey, toffee, butterscotch, a bit nutty, fruitiness, sweet, some alcohol, bitterish finish, medium-bodied.

Sampled on draft at Pipers this beer poured a red-brown color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was tart, fruity and bitter. The flavor was intensely boozy with yeast, golden fruits and tobacco. Very long finish of booze and golden fruits. Moderately full bodied. Disappointing.

Thick, bittersweet and caramelly. Plenty of maltyness, rich and warming, strong enough for sure. Excellent value for money.

From notes. Pours a gold from a tap, thick white fluffy head. Diacetyl aroma doesn't show up in the flavor, otherwise thick and malty. Okay beer.

Blind tasting with Dr. Beer, served in black glassware. Smell is bit of esthers ( mild ) bit of overripe fruits. Some biscuit malts, some alcohol notes as well. Mild peppery notes. Taste is full, mild bitter, creamy, some yeast flavors, bready / biscuity malts, some very minor caramel. Medium MF, OK carbo.

50 cl bottle served in Fuller’s shaker at Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddington station concourse. Pours clean dark copper orange to ruby red, tan long-lasting head (quite unusual for an English ale). Aroma is intense: rip banana, red berries, clove, cinnamon. Mouth is powerful, wide, sweet’n’sour. Fast it goes down the throat, even though it lasts quite long afterwards. Nice, though somewhat cloying.
