Deep amber in colour, Old Winter Ale is a strong beer with a malt, cookie and liquorice aroma. The prominent Crystal malts add sweet, nutty flavours, balanced by floral notes from Target, Challenger and Northdown hops.

clear dark amber colour, moderate sized yellowish off-white head; aroma of biscuits, floral and fruity notes, toffee toasted bread and some roasted nuts;taste is similar to the aroma, but with definitely much less complexity; I’m not fully convinced by this ale - seems to be something what is brewed exclusively to ride the wave of holiday season...

Bottle shared in London - picked up in Bulgaria. Vintage 2013. Pours clear orange-gold with a big, foamy yellowish head. The nose holds light toffee, ripened citrus fruits, bread. Medium sweet flavour with notes of marmalade, dried caramel, bready malts, light leafy bitterness. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Finishes with moderate sweetness, light brown sugar, toasty bread, mellow earth, candied fruits, English yeast. Not bad.

Kirkas, punertavanruskea olut pienehköllä, mutta kivan pysyvän vaahtoreunuksen omaavalla vaahdolla. Tuoksu maltaisen karamellinen, hieman pähkinäinen, humaloidun oloinen.

Bottle. Amber with an off white head. Smells of peach, lemon blossoms, biscuit. A bit boiled sweety. Smooth and quite full bodied with modest carbonation. Sweet with biscuity malt and some dried fruit, spices that creep up with moderate but insistent bitterness. Dryish finish with a little hint of alcohol (!) at the end. OK but not much character in this one.

Bottle at home. Pours a clear mahogany color with a big beige head. Aroma of caramel, apple cake, berries, sweet tea, leather and bread. The flavor is also a little sweet with toffee, bread, grass, leather and dried fruit. Has a slick and soft mouth feel, medium body and a balanced bitterness. A well-balanced and sweet English ale. A little careful though.

Clear briljant amber brown colour, small foamy light tan head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malts, light cocoa, caramel, dried dark fruits. Taste is medium sweet and bitter, average to long duration, malty, toffee, hops. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, toffee and spicy notes, quite dry in the finish. A well-balanced and solid malty ale.
