Deep brown with a foamy, off-white head, the predominant aroma is chocolate malt, this continues into the flavour, with some sweetness and a lovely smooth mouthfeel, the finish being slightly sweet with a hint of fruit. Not a supremely challenging beer, but very easy drinking and a pleasant palate, pretty much what you'd expect from a mild

26/3/2018. Cask at the Wetherspoon Real Ale & Cider festival @ Hamilton Hall. Intrigued to see this resurrected as enjoyed many pints of this before it was retired about 4 years ago. Pours attractive mahogany brown with a lasting creamy towards beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, toffee, light roasting, malt, nut and a hint of chocolate. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, texture a little thin, very soft carbonation. Thinner than I remember it but still good and one of Adnams best. Hope it's back to stay.

Third of a pint in my local Wetherspoon pub on 17th March 2018. Liked this, deep brown body, tanned topping. Malty brew with plenty going on, the nose has a biscuity/caramel/toffee aroma with the taste following along in the same way. Some calming hop action to stop the beer being a sweet mess, it balances out nicely.

Pours a clear ruby brown colour with a small foamy tan head. A light toasty malt aroma, caramel and fruity. Doughy malt, some caramel sweetness and fruit flavours, but a bit watery. A nice mellow bitterness but a bit ordinary.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Poured dark amber to mid brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of toffee, malt, roasting, vanilla and moderately fruity. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily to slick texture, soft carbonation. One of Adnams best imo.
