On tap at the Garage Project Cellar Door, Auckland. Black with creamy off white head. Chocolate and cocoa, roasty, nice smooth creamy texture, bitter finish, easy drinkable.

440ml can at Battle of Bull, Cheras Malaysia. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, dry ashtray. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a smooth, roasty, dry ashtray, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

On nitro. Dark brown with thick creamy nitro head. Burnt toast and chocolate nose. Good creamy mouthfeel. Lovely classic Irish stout.

At Garage 91 Aro. Looks like this came from hand pump, but has almost a nitro head. Clear deep reddish brown. Roast, dark chocolate, soft seaweed, chocolate, light old wood, dry earthy notes. Light sweet and almost medium bitter. Under medium bodied with low to no carbonation. These guys really know how to brew, this is pretty damn close to the best Irish stout I’ve ever had.

On nitro at the Lumsden. Pours black with a big nitro head. Dry aroma, little coffee in there. Coffee, chocolate, cherry, vanilla, cream. Big smooth body. Tasty.
