Three hundred years ago, guitar maker John Preston invented the turning peg to help musicians get their strings to the right pitch.

Today, you can adjust your tension with a Machine Head.

We've updated the classic APA recipe and turned the ABV down to session levels. Brewed with Goldings and Motueka hops, Machine Head has Deep Purple blueberry flavours and a twang of citrus, jamming along with a mellow biscuity maltiness.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 3 August 2022. Play gold in colour with a thin, white, head. Zingy citrus hops, some lime and tangerine fruits, light maltiness and a dryish finish. A lot hoppier than any other Box Steam beer I have drank, and all the better for being so.

Cask at the Strait and Narrow. Pale golden colour with a white head. Ugly citrus aroma and bittersweet taste with a medium body.
