A true English ale made with classic English hops, grain and yeast. Crystal malt contributes an enticing caramel flavour and colour, while the base malt and yeast provide a smooth body. The Fuggles and First Gold hops deliver the characteristic flavour and nose of a quintessentially British ale. Dunsfold Best was a SIBA (The Society of Independent Brewers) gold medal winner at the southeast region beer competition 2016

Bottle from Secretts Farm Shop, Surrey. Currently down as a bitter but the bottle states ’mild’. Sweet caramel and malts aroma. The bottle states that it’s dark ruby beer, but not so ruby. The beige head soon shrinks to nothing. Sweet with hints of bitterness. Develops a sourness into the finish. Some caramel, malts, berries. Light bodied and watery. A prickle of carbonation. Long but low key finish. One of those beers that gives milds a bad name, reminds me of a flat budget brand cola which someone’s then hopped. OK but bland.
