Inspired by the Märzen Rauchbiers of Bamberg, Pope comes with savoury notes courtesy of renowned Beechwood Smoked Malt. Pale in colour, the depth of rich flavours will be a surprise at first but, like all great Rauchbiers, it is extremely drinkable and well balanced with a mild spiciness to keep things interesting.

Cask-conditioned at No.1 Harbourside, Bristol 3/10/2017. Amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Sweetish and smoky beer, with a hint of caramel, berry fruits, touch of bacon and toasty malts, leading to a decently smoked finish. Good.

Tried at the Golden Eagle Lincoln. Amber colour with an off white head. Aroma is fruity and light meaty smoke. Taste malty smoke to, but not harsh light some smoked beers can be. Medium body.
