Cask at the Seven Stars, Stourbridge at 4.6%. Pours gold with a small head. Aroma is bready straw and tropical fruit. Taste has straw and light tropical fruit with a medium bitter finish.

500ml bottle, same name and artwork but now at 6% and entitled 'West Coast IPA'. Having not tried the older version its 50/50 a different beer but don't want to get tied up in semantics and therefore will review here. Look - clear light amber, small white blanket of head, nice retention Nose - biscuit malts, some sweetness and fruity/aromatic floral hop. Taste - biscuit malts, grains, citrus zest, sultanas, pine, modest bitterness. Has a certain rich depth to it. Palate - medium body, dry clinginess to the teeth. Overall - Enjoyable. Half old English IPA / half West Coast IPA. A bit different.
