Wheat beer full of the aromas of fresh ripening grain and crispy bread. It is one of the oldest styles of beer in Europe, which, thanks to Amber Wheat, is regaining its Polish character. Amber Wheat inspired by the centuries-old tradition of brewing this beer in Pomerania is a beer in which classic banana and clove notes harmoniously merge with a slightly hoppy bitterness. Brewed using the top fermentation method. Naturally cloudy.
It is brewed using the top fermentation method. This means that special yeast strains are used for its production. They cause the fermentation process to take place at a higher temperature, and the beer contains a greater amount of esters, which are the key to the characteristic, richer bouquet. The aroma features classic notes of ripe bananas and cloves, harmoniously balanced by bitterness. Light, straw color. Delicate, refreshing taste. The lack of filtration makes the beer naturally cloudy. It has abundant head, characteristic for the style.
The history of wheat beer goes back to the beginnings of brewing. From the Sumerians, through Babylonians, Egyptians, to brewers in monastery and court breweries. It was also known in Poland from the earliest times and dominated until the 18th century. Only the popularization of the bottom fermentation method made barley beers popular, which successively displaced wheat beers from the Polish market, but also in Europe. We bring the tradition back to life with our Amber Wheat.
We have been brewing Amber Wheat since 2012.
Wheat beers in German are “Weißbier”, or white beer. And just like white wines, our Amber Wheat is a great addition to fish, seafood or baked vegetables. This combination emphasizes the taste of the dishes.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of wheat and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and wheat, leading to a dry wheaty finish. Boring wheat.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy opaque yellow body. Earthy papery mealy aroma with spicy banana notes. Dryish-sweet earthy tropical fruit taste with mealy papery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel goes a little hot at the end. Dryish, almost acidic, mealy banana and fruit aftertaste with earthy papery notes. It’s OK, but not something I’m going to buy again. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly web order.)

Bottle, as Amber Wheat. Cloudy - almost milky - orange with a large white head that lasts well. Bready aroma with cloves, coriander, a little lemon. Sweet and bready with a wheaty and lemony tanginess, dries out a little with spices. A bit on the sweet side for me, but pretty good.

Bottle. Cloudy golden beer by design with a very strong white head. The aroma is yeasty and lemony citric, and the flavour has dryness with a very palatable grapefruit body with some yeastiness. Overall a nice zesty wheat beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Flaske 0,5l fra Vinmonolpoet, Tromsø Langnes. Drukket hjemme 3 Apr 13. Lys appelsinfarget. Veldig uklar. Ikke pen. Høyt luftig skum som varer en stund. Litt lacing. Grei sitrusaroma. Smaken er litt sitrus men med et tydelig gjærpreg. Blir for søt. KI=7

Bottled (thanks CueSheet & SADESA). Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, some spices and some mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is yeast, wheat, toffee and some slight floral notes. Not the most typical of hefeweizen’s, but still a pleasant and refreshing brew.

Bottled, from Vinmonopolet, Tromsö, Norway. Cloudy golden, mid sized head. Fruity nose with paper, white pepper and mashed banana. Mid sweet with light-medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. No bitterness. More In-Bev style Russian macroweizen than proper German hefeweizen.
