The starting beer is a classic Porter added with Tuscan Kentucky tobacco leaves, the same ones that are used to make traditional Italian cigars. The result is a very dark beer with very rich aromas of tobacco, spices and walnut husks. The mouthfeel and palate deliver roasty notes, with a slight acidity and the tobacco offers a peppery and almost hot feeling.

33cl bottle. Black colored beer with a thin but lasting brown head. Roasted coffee beans, chocolate, nutty aroma. Flavor has nuts, roasted malt, milk chocolate, tobacco notes. Dry, chocolaty finish. Pleasant, nice body, balanced.

Almost black beer with a medium and light brown head. Aroma is surprisingly mild, roasted malts, coffee, some peppermint and dark chocolate, clear sweetness. Taste has black coffee, some weird spices and peppermint. Quite smooth, medium bodied but maybe a stronger body would be better. There is something unique, maybe that’s the tobacco even I can’t find that. Basic good beer.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a tan head that never quite disappears. Many years ago I smoked Senior Service cigarettes, and yes the deceptively mild fruity tobacco aroma they had (before lighting) is there along with some dark sugars, light roast and plums. Damn, now I want one. Silky texture, quite light bodied. Dark fruits and sugars, a touch of roast, dry moderately bitter finish with some tobacco. Interesting beer.

Bottle at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly light tan head. The aroma is light roast, light fruit, no tobacco! The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a roasty liqourice, light red berry fruit palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Served cool so it hit the mark in BKK but lacked flavour, especially the advertised ones.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Dark brown/light black pour with tan head. Aroma is roasted, sweet, slightly sour and hoppy. Taste is sort of sour/tart on top of a brown ale/light porter. Also very bitter hoppy towards the end. Tart and a bit smoky finish. Big flavor despite the somewhat light body. Not as smoky as I expected, which is fine. Interesting beer - tasty too. Would get again.
