Bomber from Final Gravity. Pours very dark brn/blk with a slight dark tan head. Aroma of smooth dark chocolate with a bourbon centre. Med + body. Flavor is earthy, smooth dark chocolate with bourbon vanilla accompaniment. It’s very earthy, and drier than expected. I think I can get a little wood. The whiskey is present as whiskey, and the heat didn’t bother me anywhere but the gullet. Very delicious stuff.

2015-2016 vintage (new) $19 bomber (ouch!) pours with a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin light mocha head. The aroma modest offers up rich chocolate notes, chocolate brownie, molasses nuance spicy oak, a dash of marshmallow and then soft thin bourbon echoes. The taste delivers a bourbon boozy experience that’s right there but pretty well restrained and blended into chocolate, some thin sweet prune and date notes as well as highly roasted malts. It picks up thin muddled spicy oak toward midway just as it gets a hint of marshmallow. Toward the finish the thin soft sweet bourbon bubbles to the surface along with a pleasing sliver of toffee. This is pretty nice. The bourbon could be a tad further restrained but it certainly doesn’t get in the way of the tasty beer notes. For the big price tag I’m not sure the value is there to ever get another bottle.

On cask at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out heaps of vanilla beans dominating, along with booze. Flavour is loaded with vanilla beans, followed by cocoa and a touch of booze. Full-bodied and smooth. Excellent.

Bottle @ Beer Temple, medium sample. Hazy dark brown color, short creamy head. Loads of vanilla and bourbon coming through, milk chocolate, mocha, some roast and coffee. Quite sweet in taste, soft roasty bitterness, vanilla, slight cookie and alcohol from bourbon. Rich, creamy, tasty.
