Fles gedeeld met Roelzie en Keukeman. Het is een donkerbruin bier met een dun bruinig schuim. Het aroma is koffie achtig met lichte tonen van kokos. De smaak is vol, moutig, zoet, kokos en chocolade.

33 cl bottle @ Euphemos, BBE 06.07.2023 Aroma has belgian yeast, mild ash and licorice. Foamy palate, too high on CO2. Flavour has alcohol, licorice and ash. Finishes with mild vinegar tones. No signs of coconut or almond. Probably not in a good shape.

Czekolada, od cholery cukru, nuta kokosa która znika z czasem, migdały niewyczuwalne. Barwa ciemna, przejrzysta, piana wysoka, znika powoli do niskiej, trochę przegazowane, delikatny lacing. Goryczka niska, przytłoczona słodyczą, czekoladowa. Bardziej pastry stout niż brown ale. Cukier aż chrupie w zębach, za słodkie, ale mimo wszystko nieźle się pije.

Bottle 33 cl. Dark brown, coffee foam. Aroma: sweet, caramel, nuts, coconut, almonds, a little biscuit and balsam. Taste: caramel, chocolate, coconut, almonds, strong, good.

Bottle from Hoptimaal. Came in a snazzy box which could inspire a Lovecraftian horror film script. Burnt coconut over coffee and sour milk (which could be the almonds) in terms of aroma. Stygian body. Frothy beige head. Initial umami which is deposed by a sour streak. However that is quickly replaced by a sugary load. Underlying bitterness throughout. The coconut and almond are there but influence the taste rather than lead it. Light-medium bodied. Thin creaminess. Sticky residue. Fizzy carbonation. Long finish - sickly rather than astringent. It's fine but overly sweet for me. I'm intrigued by the Lovecraftian label - do the tentacles and teeth belong to some sort of cosmic kin that offer the infant protection and dark but loving embrace?

Bottle at home. Pours deep ruby brown, nose is roasted, almond, cream, toffee, taste is similar, creamy, little thin.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with slightly late awakening, average to huge, thick, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, sulphureous to beige head. Sweet-ish, nutty, chocolately and caramel malty aroma, notes of dark caramel, hazelnut, toffee, nougat, milk chocolate, whiffs of almond. Taste is sweet-ish, nutty and caramel malty, notes of dark caramel, hints of hazelnut, toffee, nougat, some milk chocolate, almond, whiffs of coconut, a bitter almond touch as well, minimally soapy, waxy overtones; minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to viscous texture, super-soft, smooth, silky palate, very fine, soft carbonation. Not fully harmonious composition, excellent mouthfeel - pretty good.
