Blueberry Jack is a psychedelic trip to flavor town. A hazy collaboration with our friends at Stillwater Artisanal Ales, it’s also the latest entry in their “Strains from Mother Nature” series. We blended together a blonde Brettanomyces-fermented ale aged in both oak barrels and foedres, then added California-grown blueberries and blackberries. After maturing, we dry-hopped the beer with reckless amounts of Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy hops for a trippy, tropical-dank aroma.

Taproom draft into a shot-glass showing opaque and hazy dark red with white lacing. The nose is acetic and tart with light notes of blueberry. The palate is medium bodied and highly carbonated. Moderately tart with hints of petro and very light blueberry on the mid-palate and finish.

Bottle at RBGT. Pours salmon. Yes it does. Aroma is fruity funk, oak, wood, berries. Body is medium, salty, oak, fruit again. Tart and lightly sour. Fruity medium long palate.

Bottle at 2017 Ratebeer Best. Pours hazy blackberry, or maybe blueberry, with a pinkish head. Aroma of sour dark berry. Med body. Flavor is pleasing sour dark berry. Tart finish.
