Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5

Draught at the brewpub (2010 vintage). Near black, small beige head. Roasty aromas with licorice and grapefruit. Sweet and full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Salty caramel and fudge, some citrus and molasses. Warming finish with long salty bitterness and some resin. A heavy, roasty and surprisingly dark barley wine.
