Brakspear Oxford Gold is a remarkably zesty brew, with fresh, citrussy aromas and a firm, fruity flavour. Pale ale malts provide the beer with its gold-gilt shimmer, spruced by a hatful of crystal malts to give body, texture and a delicate honey’d wrap.

Organic Target hops deliver a shamelessly fresh perfume, whilst late hopping with organic Goldings and fermentation by our Brakspear yeasts give Brakspear Oxford Gold a fabulous, fruity finish.

Cask at Loggerheads, Shrewsbury. Pours golden amber with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just hints of citrus and malts. In the mouth it is slightly bitter with a creamy texture. Flavour has malts, citrus and floral hops with traces of biscuits and grass coming through later. Bitterness lasts into the finish. This is decent enough but somewhat bland.

Amber gold with a frothy / creamy white head and a citrusy, hoppy aroma. Sweet, biscuit malt with grassy hops and a touch of citrus bitterness.

500ml bottle. Hazy orange color. Nice fluffy head. Nice aroma of goldings and light bready notes. Flavour is nice and hoppy with a good amount of malty breadiness to balance it out. Wow a super balanced beer, exremely drinkable.

Have you had a half-decent golden ale? Cool, so you know what this is. Looks like a beer should with a good thick head, smells a bit malty, flavour has a bit of the same and some hops and maybe a dash of citric fruit. No more, no less. No nasties, but a thoroughly generic beer.
