Brakspear Oxford Gold is a remarkably zesty brew, with fresh, citrussy aromas and a firm, fruity flavour. Pale ale malts provide the beer with its gold-gilt shimmer, spruced by a hatful of crystal malts to give body, texture and a delicate honey’d wrap.
Organic Target hops deliver a shamelessly fresh perfume, whilst late hopping with organic Goldings and fermentation by our Brakspear yeasts give Brakspear Oxford Gold a fabulous, fruity finish.

Clear orange blond beer, small creamy white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: malty, fruity, grains, a bit hoppy, decent. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty, grains, hay, gentle bitterness, fruity touch, some citrus. Aftertaste: a bit grassy, hoppy, more fruity, bitter, dry, ok.

Bottle from my local off-licence ‘Wine Rack’. Pours a clear golden colour with a thin throthy white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee and bread. Taste has more caramel, toffee and bread with added notes of biscuit and marmalade. A slight earthy hop on the finish. Thinnish body and slightly oily mouthfeel. Quite nice .

Cask at the Dew Drop, Hurley. Poured a clear light amber colour with a bubbly white head. The aroma is malt, yeasty, light floral woody hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth, light, slightly watery, light woody hop bitter palate. Light to medium medium bodied with soft carbonation. --- Beer merged from original tick of Oxford Gold (Bottle) on 22 Apr 2012 at 08:56 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 1 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5. Original review text: What can I say? I don't get the zesty aroma that it claims to have on the bottle and neither do I get the fruit either. I guess the most important thing is that I like it and I'd order another. It won't win any awards, but it will quench my thirst on a hot summers day! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good gold colour with white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and a slight fruit hint. Average carbonation. Taste of malt, caramel, hops and a fruit note. Bitterness is consistent throughout and finish is on the dry side. Tasty.
