Caged and corked bottle 75cl. from cellar, bought October 2013, opened with a good ''plop'', @home served in a trappist glass. Strong nose of sweet malts and xmas spices. Opaque deep ruby brown, small quite loose beige head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Rich aroma, sweet roasted malts, candied dark fruits, molasses, brown sugar, caramel, liquorice, cinnamon, cloves. Mellow taste, light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts, dark fruits, ahorn syrup, toffee, cinnamon, hint of anis. Mellow sweetbitter aftertaste, warming alcohol, spicy and nutty and syrup notes, full-bodied, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation. A very good example of the style, round and rich, a festive beer for sure and a superior one!
