This deliciously dark oatmeal stout is brewed with a combination of dark malts, roasted barley and oats to give complex roasted flavours and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Brewed in honour of Jack Black, the mysterious cobbler of Llareggub, this is the latest in our range of Dylan Thomas inspired beers.

Cask at GBBF’12, London: Opaque black coloured brew with an good taste of roasted malts and smooth bitter finish.

500ml bottle @ Goat Major, Cardiff. Pours a clear mahogany, small pale tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel, lightly nutty. Taste is smooth, fairly sweet with good caramel presence, some dusty cocoa and light roast. Ok, bit thin.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14. A mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting loose cream head. Aroma is earthy chocolate, nutty, light tart berry. Flavour is composed of chalky chocolate, bery, very dry dusty finish. Berry. Palate is too light and watery.

Bottle shared at chriso’s post-GBBF shindig 2014 - London. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. Simple beer, with light dark malt character, nips of bitter cocoa, earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Basic burnt leaf finish with touches of roast. Fine.

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, caramel, malty, bit sugary, bready, some banana. MF: soft carbon, light body. Taste: pretty roasted, mocha, coffee, caramel, sweet, watery touch. Aftertaste: little bitter, mocha, lots of caramel, bit sourish.

Bottle 500ml. [ As Brains Jack Black ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, toffee, butterscotch. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, toffee, light chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140523]

Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate light tan covering. Nose is earthy roast, light cocoa, dark toffee. Taste carries less depth, light roast, me old mate cardboard, dark fruit notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so - pretty basic fayre.

Bottle @ DØE Sommerfest. Pours black with a small offwhite head. Aroma of malt, yeast, roast, coffee. Flavor is malts, light sweet, yeast, coffee. Medium body, average carbonation. 200814

Bottle - Roast malts and some dark fruit with oatmeal. Deep jet brown with a thin beige head. Dark roast and some chocolate. A little thin body for an oatmeal, but not bad.

DØE. Almost black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and liquorice. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted light bitter finish. 230514
