This deliciously dark oatmeal stout is brewed with a combination of dark malts, roasted barley and oats to give complex roasted flavours and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Brewed in honour of Jack Black, the mysterious cobbler of Llareggub, this is the latest in our range of Dylan Thomas inspired beers.

500ml Bottle: BBD the end of Feb 14. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 13th Nov 13. As the name suggests, this is black in colour: on top a full creamy tanned head. The nose is all about over roasted malts, as is the taste: slightly watery and lacking in depth but not a bad brew even if it comes across a little thin in the body. Mild chocolate and coffee notes within the blend of flavours, the finish is dry and fairly bitter. Not the greatest Oatmeal Stout I’ve had, but not the worst either.

Bottle. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Roasty malts, some sweet, milk chocolate and creamy porridge oats, before a gentle finish. Fine.
