Pours dark amber with a little off-white head. Aroma of bread, toasted malts, caramel, a bit boring. Flavour is medium to light sweet with a light bitter end.

Bottle. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Rated as Brauns Achhörnla. Schöne kastanienbraune Farbe, malzig-trockener Geruch. Der Antrunk ist angenehm vollmundig-trocken-malzig. Ganz leicht süßlich. Zum Hauptteil kommt eine süßlich-gherbe Note hinzu, sie sich aber doch in Hintergrund hält und zum Nachgeschmack hin den herberen Part hervorbringt. Eine Herb-malzige Note verbleibt im Mund, die Süße ist fast ganz verschwunden. Schöne herb-trockene Note, Dunkles Laub, ganz leicht säuerlich.

Bottled, from Landbierparadies, Nuremberg. Hazy copper/amber, small head. Bread, caramel and grass up front. Mid dry with medium body and firm, well rounded mouthfeel. Lightly fruity with mellow bready malt and light grassy hops. Mid bitter finish. Mild and well balanced.

Bamberg Jolly Day 2 25/01/2014. From tap shared at the brewery. Nice reddish amber colour with a lasting frothy off white cream head. Aroma is toasted caramel, nutty and mineral. Flavour is iron / blood, metal and caramel malts. Medium body and crisp mineral on the tongue.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Karamell, leicht schokoladig. Geschmack röstmalzig, Karamell, Schokolade, leicht fruchtig.

Bamberg Bash Day 2. Tap at the brewpub. Clear amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and dry and crisp. Malt is sweet caramel - toffee, slightly creamy. Light smooth finish. Sweet dunkel.

Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, tap at the brewery - Forchheim, 25/01/14. Very lightly hazed dark amber with a moderate light beige head. Nose is toffee, burnt nuts, bread dough. Taste comprises caramel, bread dough, brown sugar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Ok dunkel.

Bottle looks simple, a bit like a cheap beer. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts malty, fruity like plum and lemon, quite sourish background. Mild dry notes. Finish still dominated by malty-sourish notes. Not my favourite.
