Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Clear, dark amber appearance with a light brown head. Slightly metallic, nutty, caramel/cracker malty aroma. A bit buttery, lightly metallic, rich caramel, nutty flavor. A few off flavors but not too bad.

Bottled. Deep amber colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is mildly toasted malts, some slight caramel, toffee and dark berries. Flavour is sweet malts along with mild toasted notes. Also surprisingly hopped for a dunkel, has a quite bittery undertone to it. Mild sourish wood lurking in the background.

(bottle, bought in Forchheim as Braun’s Eichhörnla) Clear, amber-coloured and effervescent hue with a big and light-beige foamy head. Slightly sweet and toasty malty aroma with nettle-like spices and subtle fruity notes. Light-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a fizzy carbonation. Toasty malty taste with light notes of caramel and a distinctively herbal and spicy touch (nettles); quite dry, slightly bitter and toasty finish with berry fruity notes. Needs to be re-rated; otherwise pretty drinkable. 31.X.07
