Cask Conditioned at The Glassblower, London, as Traditional Bitter
Beautiful dark amber color, almost no head. Light aroma, maybe with light nuts. Dark caramel flavor, strong bitterness, even too strong at the end. Straightforward. Must be punished for the disturbing burnt malt aftertaste.

Draught. Clear coppery amber with loose white head. Little aroma: just beery! Light body and light carbonation. Light malty, bready, yeasty flavour with gentrle bitter finish. Very quaffable.

Cask, somewhere in Clifton, Bristol. Brownish hue. Very dull bog standard bitter, little to comment on or recommend. Insipid hoppy maltiness never manages to stimulate. Yawn.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a creamy off-white head; citrus aroma; smooth and creamy texture; sharp bitter burst to start then developing an orange fruitiness; dry buttery and biscuity finish. An excellent everyday bitter.

(Cask at Carpenter’s Arms, Marylebone, London 29 Apr) Amber colour with firm off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dark fruit, prunes, hints of chocolate and earthy hops. Malty taste with dark fruit, orange marmalade and nice notes of earthy hops in a bitter finish. Very well balanced. Really good beer.

Cask conditioned at the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, Gloucs 8/4/2007. Thin headed brown bitter. Some malt in the aroma with balanced hops and fruity malt flavour. Fairly long, bitter aftertaste. From memory, seems darker and more malty than in the past - a definite improvement.
