Another pleasing acquisition from a Belgian retailer, actually excited about this one. Pannepot aged in cognac barrels. Holy crap. I have a 33 cl bottle brewed in March of 2020, vintage 2018. Go figure. The Trappistes Rochefort glass is brought out on this tasting. The arrival is caramel-colored with a very little head to determine. The nose is ripe fruit, biscuit and indeterminate alcohol. A drink, oh my, this is fine. Booze soaked fruit cake, full grain bread, dates, a bit of cane syrup, oak, black raisins, all with a nice bitterness at the end. Rich and full. I will be remembering this one for awhile.

Bottle @ Belgium. Pours amber copper with a small collapsing white head. Spices, nutmeg, dark fruit and wood. Caramel, licorice and a whiff of overripe fruit. Low carbonation. Soft. Nice sipper.
