Draft at Fakin. Dark opaque brown color tan head. Pine aroma with dark roast coffee. Taste is lightly bitter pine resin and roast. Tasty.

Bottle split at Bodney, thanks to LKS, 12/04/18. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is charr, pine, earthy mellow roast, red berry coating, dusty hops, light spice. Taste comprises roast malts, toffee, pine needle, cocoa sprinkle, light spice, scorched action. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with dusty hop bitterness. Decent CDA action offered here.

Bottle in 'Ackney, thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy deep brown - black with a medium light tan head. The aroma is fresh, perfumed, violet, cocoa, ashy, charred malts and some earthy roast. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, charred wood, peppery spice, tar, cookie dough and some citrus peel. The finish holds spice and charred wood. Medium body and fine carbonation. Has this definite perfumed character. I don't however think the balance is there to make this a top Black IPA.

Bodney Bier Huis bottleshare. Thanks to LKS. Semi opaque amber - brown beer, small tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, some bitterish oxidisation. Little ripe fruits. Dry finish brings a touch of bitterish caramel. A little too much like hard work.

Bottle shared in Hackney - picked up in Roma. Pours deep brown with a bubbly, off-white head. Toasted pine in the nose, mild roast, orange rind. Medium sweet flavour with more bittersweet cocoa, pine, earth, tangerine, grapefruit. Meidum bodied with fine to average carbonation. Balanced finish, some further earth and cocoa, tangerine, grapefruit. Good. Very drinkable.

Bottle shared at Leightons place 12/04/2018. Many thanks. NUT brown coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is pine jammy, pine, woody, pine. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty malts, jammy fruit, jammy pine, celery. Palate is semi sweet, little creamy., little creamy. Moderate carbonation. Good.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out medium roasted malt, robust piney hops and a dry toasted crusty bread character. Flavour is robust as well, with a wonderful balance between crusty rye bread, roasted malt and dry piney hops. Wonderfully constructed, with endless depth of character. Fantastic stuff - one of the best Slovenian beers.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty hoppy bitter caramel aroma. Slightly roasted malty caramel hoppy bitter citrus flavor. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel hoppy finish.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate,mroasted malt, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, bread, and straw, and starw, leading to a bitter finish.
