On tap at Cafe Abseits, Bamberg, 4/5/2014. Slightly hazy and gold in colour, with a decent white head and a touch of carbonation. Sweetish, floral lager, with some crisp malts and well concealed alcohol. Pleasant.

Bottle kindly given to me by Gerhard at Café Abseits in Bamberg. Slightly hazy golden/orange with a lasting thick cream head. Looks really carbonated, I may have to decant this to get some of the gas out of it. Slightly perfumed aroma. Good light bock but with a definite alcohol punch. Some hop, I know it’s called a Maibock, but it does actually taste of May. Like May blossom. Really drinkable. Alcohol is hidden well. Yep really tasty.

Draught @ Cafe Abseits. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Shows a lot of similarities with this brewers regular lagerbier, citrus crisp etc. Altough this one is a lot heavier. Lots of honey! Its also quite alcoholic (too alcoholic if you ask me...).

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, malty, sugar, light hay. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malty, bock alike. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110819]

Bottle. A clear one, except for microfloaties, golden in color and topped by a finger-thick white head. Quite hoppy on the nose, grassy and lightly peppery. Pine cone notes too. Full-bodied, nicely carbonated and slighlty warming. The flavor is bitter, with the maltyness subdued. Lasting bitter finish too. Certainly one of the best heller bocks I’ve had. 110819
