Explorer is light and refreshing, suffused with the aromas of a grapefruit grove. The citrus attack will burst on your palate as the hops deliver their fruity bitterness.

Available in 500ml bottle and in keg in selected Wetherpoon outlets.

Pale Ale malt is used to provide the biscuity backbone of this blonde beer but it’s the hops that give it its personality. We use two American hops, grown in the Yakima Valley in Washington. These hops, called Columbus and Chinook, add wonderful grapefruit flavours to the beer.

Bottle. Clear amber with a slight white head. This was dull - Aroma of floral hops with some apricots. Watery in the mouth with some subdued hop flavours and a short finish.

Cask at the Cask at The George Hotel, Cley-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk, 27-04-07. Pours golden in colour very zesty, citrusy and fruity nose. Taste was much more of the same, very fruity and crisp with real citrusy bite and nice bitterness.

Bottle from Asda. poured a clear dolden colour with a little white head and light carbonation; light hoppy aroma; explodes in the mouth with a rich grapefruit flavour. Excellent bitterness to start, if this beer lacks anything it’s follow through - the aftertaste is disappointingly light.

500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Brewed with American Chinook and Columbus hops. Golden colour, large foamy head. Pleasant hoppy aroma and flavour, both with notes of citrus and dry white wine. Bitter finish. Okay beer, but I’d like the malts to come through too.
