Cask gravity at Ealing Beer Festival 2008. Deep russet brown. After being bottled for a day and a half, not in great condition. Some nice toffee and malt. Bit toasty and then some balancing hop on finish. A pretty good premium bitter, plenty of flavour. Bit of plastic maybe, but that could be from the bottle. Decent full fruity malt. 3.2 re rate.. cask handpull at The County Hotel Ashford. Malty bitter. Not very bitter on the finish. A little pepper may on finish. Ok

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Chestnut with a dense cream head; syrupy malt aroma; lots of earthy malt flavours with some roasted nuts and some sour blackberry fruit; deeply bitter finish. Excellent.

Bottle at YNWA, Kolding. Red brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is roasted, caramel, malt. Flavour is roasted, caramel, malt, fruit. Could be more.

Bottle at YNWA, Kolding. Pours an almost clear, copper body with a minimal off-white head. Malt, a touch of butterscotch, bready notes and a rather pleasant fruityness in the aroma. Bready malt aroma, some fruityness, but not much bitterness in the flavor. Full body. Sweet, malty finish with some fruityness. Pleasant, drinkable and boring. (080229)

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a dense, off-white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of roasted malts and nuts. Medium body with notes of nuts, a little caramellish malt and some overripe fruit. The finish is dry with some alcohol presence. 190208

500ml bottle (bb.28.03.08) bought at Utobeer on my last trip to London almost a year ago. Served at the right drinking temperature in a Camra-glass. Shining rosewood body topped by a beige, foamy head, slowly fading. Moderate glass-lacing. Smell of blackcurrant supported by a slightly touch of caramel. Fine malty foundation in flavour very well mixed with dark fruits and berries added by a spicy (pepper) hint. Soft bitter backnotes. Moderate mouthfilling (11.01.2008).

Cask at Tennantโs Bar, Glasgow. A slightly hazy amber beer with a dense cream colored head - the head seems to come from a sparkler. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty though with hints of butter, leading to a dry bitter finish. The mouthfeel is very smooth.

Cask at Tennentโs Bar, Glasgow. Amber colour. Very fruity. Hay-like hops with lots of pear-like fruitiness. Medium bodied with lightly sparkling mouthfeel. Pleasant bitterish finish. Well balanced.
