Vlajková loď z produkce žateckého pivovaru. Vyrobeno speciálním výrobním procesem, tzv. za studena chmelené, vybranou odrůdou žateckého chmele. Pivo tmavě zlaté až jantarové barvy, plné chuti s vyšší hořkostí a výraznou vůní žateckého chmele. Vhodné k těžším a mastnějším jídlům, především k pokrmům z vepřového masa. Skvělé jako digestiv po jídle, nebo jako chmelový „lék“ před spaním. Optimální teplota k servírování je 5°– 6° C, nejlépe do sklenic na nožičce typu Cervoize.

0.5l bottle. Malty aroma, hopy notes, caramel. Clear amber color, white head. Malty taste, caramel, hopy notes, medium bitter. Medium body, slick texure, soft to average carbonation and malty bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear copper pour with one finger creamy off-white head. Surprisingly thick and long lasting, good lacing on the glass. Nose is malty, lots of caramel and toffee notes. Thin to medium body with average carbonation. Regular texture. Malty sweet taste with bitter finish. Aroma is heavily malty, loaded with caramel and toffee. Feels a bit sugary even. Some herbal and honey notes. Slightly acidic bitter finish, lingering off-placed bitterness on the tongue, a bit unpleasant. Overall, unspectacular effort. Average at best, not a beer I’d go back to.

0.5l bottle from pivoteka u modreho lva, budweis, 38 czk. pours a clear deep golden with a big frothy head. aroma of candy, herbs, almost like a belgian ale. flavour of grains, candy, herbs, leaves. fizzy carbonation, strong bitter finish.

Die Brauerei Žatec gibt jetzt auch ein Kellerbier heraus. Das Etikett ist künstlerisch mit einer Treppe bemalt und schwärmt in den höchsten Tönen von den Zutaten. Warum man gerade die Nummer 7 ausgewählt hat, konnte ich aber nicht herausfinden. Es ist ein bernsteinfarbenes Kellerbier, das in Richtung Spezial geht. Die starke Bitternote überdeckt aber ein bisschen die anderen Aromen. Aber es ist eine nette Erweiterung des klassischen tschechischen Hellen.

Tap at the Prague Beer Museum. Poured a crystal clear copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma is light sweet malt light fruity hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a smooth rich dry sweet malt, light hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottled 330ml. -from Vrutak Zagreb. Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head, dusty herbal nose. Malty, light caramel, herbs, dust and some usual bitterish pils finish. Just average but drinkable.
