McEwan’s 70/- is a beer that’s perfect for drinking with friends. Rich in taste and creamy in texture, it’s an ale that oils the wheels of a night out. Smooth times are ahead.
The shilling categories in our beers’ names have an interesting history. In the nineteenth century the taxman charged a duty in shillings on each hogshead (54 gallons) of beer depending on its strength. The stronger the beer, the more he levied.

This one is a good session beer. Light sweet fruity nose.Pleasant carmel malt palate with light hops in the finish

Slightly creamy head and texture. The taste is dryish on the palate, slightly sweet and slightly watery. Pleasant but nothing special.

Another decent Scottish ale (had it on tap only). Fairly sweet, though......

Sampled cask conditioned. Like an English mild. Soapy with sweetish malta-aroma. One-dimensional.
