Sheppy’s Vintage Reserve Cider is produced from entirely home-grown apples. It is a blend of one year’s harvest of the highest quality bittersweet apples such as Chisel Jersey, Yarlington Mill, Stoke Red and Tremlett’s Bitter. It is fermented and then matured in oak vats to achieve its fine, award winning full bodied flavour.

Clear deep golden color with almost no head. Fine cider aroma. Apples, mild oak, basement and mild fruity. Medium + body. Balanced sweetness vs acidity. Average to soft carbonation. Not to typical cider this one. A bit higher complexity. Apples, oak, basement and mild fruity. Some alcohol and a bit dry ending. Nice tasty cider.

Bottled. Surprisingly dark golden, close to ambery orange, colour, which has a small white head. Aroma is sweet apples, some wood, mild sourness as well as quite sugary and yeasty notes. Flavour is sugary, wooden, mild sour wooden notes as well as some sweet ripe apples to it. Mild almost syrupy notes to it as well. Balanced and quite delicious. This one I was sipping my share of for quite a while.

Small taste from a bottle at home. The rest was used for cooking a lovely pork hotpot. Aroma is sharp apple with some parmessan cheese and wood. Crystal clear greenish orange coloured pour with a fleeting fine ehite head. Flavour is dry crisp appes and wood / oak tanin in the finish. Nice dry palate and slightly vinous on the tongue. Moderately low carbonation. Alcohol is fairly present. Decent oaked cider.

As Somerset Oak Matured Vintage Cider. Clear golden with nice visible carbonation. Fresh apples, grapes. Has a big wine-like woody touch, medium dry with funky finish. Sweetness is just right, as is the carbonation. Nice stuff.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour, fizzy head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of tart apple, wood, vanilla. Taste is juicy apple with lingering oak & vanilla notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tannns at the finish. Quite drinkable.
