Batch 1000, a milestone on our craft beer journey. We made a long boil blond sour and barrel aged it on American oak St-Emillion (red wine) barrels. This is an exclusive project for Beer Seeker, a collaboration between the magazine Belgian Beer & Food and online beershop Etre Gourmet.

Bottle. Hazy deep red amber, low offwhite head. Deep barn aroma, wood and leather, light balsamic. Medium body, light foaming, leathery almonds, clementine peel, some tartness, sugary tail, cherry, grapes/balsamic. Leather, gummybears retronasal. Fascinating, will probably be super awesome in a few years.

Bottle. Unclear amber-reddish color with white head. Aroma is vineous funk, deep wine barrel, a touch caramel. Taste is vineous, grapes, barrel sugars, tobacco, a touch sugar still giving it a grapey feeling, tannic finish with a very well-integrated sourness. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Fantastic complexity from the wine barrels, amazing!

Reddish brown with a very faint head. Sour barrique aroma that you could just lose yourself in. Not too acidic for a sour beer, as it's balanced by sweetness and the oaky flavor. Really excellent and rounded, very complex sour.

Many thanks to kappldav123 for sharing this bottle! Fantastic deep your nose. The beer starts sour - intense sour. Winey hints, soft oak barrels, very fruity and sourish fresh. The aftertaste has a long intense fruity winey acidity with deep sour woody parts. Very interesting.
