De mouten zorgen voor een oersterk fundament waarop een complex bier verrezen is dat je smaakpapillen volop aan het werk zet. Het drinken van een Ballast is een feestje op zichzelf, wel een heftig feestje! Waarlijk een ferme quadrupel.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Edrink, Eindhoven. Dutch brewery #407. Murky brown body with an off-white head. Caramel aroma with some spices as well. Sweet malty taste with a maltbitter hoppy finish. A little bit rough around de edges but interesting as well. More barleywine-ish than a quadrupel in my opinion.
