Each year, Upland Brewing Co. brings together some of the best breweries in the world for Sour Wild Funk Fest, a one-day festival in April dedicated to one of the oldest & most diverse styles of beer. We commemorate our 2020 event with this unique wood aged sour ale. Last year, we asked our VIP attendees to our beer aged on 4 different blackberry varieties (Ouachita, Natchez, Chester, & Apache) as well as 4 different types of wood (Cherry, Maple, Sassafras, & Ash). The favorites were clear: Ouachita & Sassafras. This combination pours a beautiful red-pink with intense blackberry fruit character & a lingering earthy wood character. Pair it with rich cheese & your favorite charcuterie.

Blackberry, light sassafras, sour milk, orange, malt, and grass aroma. Ruby red amber with small pink head. Mildly sweet blackberry, malt, moderately sour lactic and citric acid, and mildly bitter grass flavor. Good body - slight hint of sassafras in the finish. Very nice.
