The aromas are fairly mild toasted malt. Pours with a nice cream colored to tan frothy head that lasts forever. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, slightly sweet at first with mild bitter burn on the back of the tongue in the finish. Interesting take on the style. Slightly soft body with good carbonation. Would love to see how this would be aged.

12oz bottle at brewers Haven. Medium brown, bubbly head. Aroma is malty, tobacco, leather. Taste mirrors the aroma, stays on target for a Barleywine. Not over the top, more classic English style.

Bottle from Busch's. Pours a deep brown to black with a full finger of beige head that dissipates. Lots of chocolate malt on the nose up front with a touch of smoke, toffee and espresso notes. A bit of fig and molasses as it warms up. Similar palate but quite a big hop presence. Lots of pine, resin with roasted malt, coffee, lightly smoked dark chocolate flavors. Lingering pithy and resiny bitterness and earthiness.

Smoky wood, chocolate caramel malt, and dry hay aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Mildly sweet smoky chocolate caramel malt, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Good body - kind of light for a barleywine though. Nice.

Big and sticky, with a hefty dollop of toffee, brown sugar, roasted malt, orange, berry, and a shitload of pine. Seems like a fruitier version of Bigfoot, but also a tad harsher and sweeter. Good, probably better with some age.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very deep red brown with a tan head. Dark fruit and toasty malt aromas with some hoppiness. Flavor has toasty malts and caramelly toffee mixing with green grape and raisin, some nice hops brightening it up. A really tasty combination of strong flavors, all in great proportion.
