Bottled. Poured deep amber in color, thin head. Sweet red fruits combined with plums, malts and some light boozyness. Full bodied, fairly complex.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark brownish mahogany with a small beige head. Nose is loaded with tannins, with plenty of oak, subtle dark dried fruits, and alcohol. Flavour has some tart dark fruits, lots of oak, light tannins, alcohol, and leather. It's a bit boozy, a little too tart for a quad, and oaky. Not really what I was expecting. It opens up and reveals its integration more as it warms. Not a top-tier quad by any means, but it's pleasant in its off-kilterness.

0.75 l bottle from the brewery, 2019 vintage, best before end of 2030. First beer in 2022. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy, moderately fruity aroma of prunes, coriander, raisins, molasses, rum and cognac. Gently sweet, malty, quite fruity, moderately spicy and a bit yeasty taste of molasses, prunes, raisins, rum, red wine, some coriander and oak, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly woody, gently vinous, just a little boozy finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent and a little astringent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. A cracking beer to start the year with, a rather complex quad with delicious barrel notes, especially fruity rum.

0.75l bottle thanks to Lore. A bit ruby dark brown body with a quickly disappearing beige head. Huge sour cherry notes in the aroma with some nutmeg, raisins, caramel, oak and even some cinnamon. Taste of cocoa, sour cherries, oak, vanilla, raisins and some cinnamon. Thick and super complex beer. Awesome.
