27th June 2015: cheers Rich for bringing this 2013 brewed beauty to the 2nd Annual Midlands tasting. Most likely the best for me at this years event. Loved the sweetness and alcohol kick along with the complexity of the flavours which blended together seamlessly. Oozes class and drinkability. Just a wonderful beer.

Bottle share round at Richy’s. Hazy amber, with a thin, tan head. Apple. Toffee. Caramel. Booze. Taste is chewy sweet. Palate is smooth, rich, and slightly boozy. Some sweetness on the close. Tasty.

Bottle during 2nd Annual Midlands tasting group; clear red amber pour with a tan head, aroma has light orange, taste has orange, some biscuit, very sweet ABV not present ok.

Bottle split at the Bespin Cloud City W2, thanks to Dan Yell, 05/05/15. Reddish amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is sweet malts, rich dark fruits, caramel, perfumed notes. Taste comprises candy floss, sweet caramel fudge, light red berry tang, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet licks in the close. Decent if a touch overly sweet at times.

Bottle shared at Leightons place. Reddy, amber coloured pour with a sticky cream coloured head. Aroma is sweet strawberry, caramel, varnish, strawberry sponge. Flavour is composed of cakey, woody, varnish, strawberry sponge, cake, Warming alcohol, wood lacquer. Palate is semi sweet, cakey, solvent, moderate carbonation. Lingering wood tanin. Interesting beer.

Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours hazy red-brown with a decent light tan head. The nose is sweet, earthy, woody, whisky, toffee, nougat, raisin, sultana, honeycomb, fruit cake, big varnish and spice. The taste is bitter, woody, earth, toffee, candy, fruit cake, raisin, whisky, brown bread, spice and alcohol with a dry, woody finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Good depth and good depth. Not bad.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Daniel. Pours unclear ruby with a frothy light tan head. The nose has some lightly toasted wood, faint varnish, leather, old berries. Medium sweet flavor with lots of wood, tangy berries, mellow brown sugar, toffee. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with more woody dryness, slight oily pine, ripe berries, toffee. Real nice beer overall.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours red brown with a thin white head. Aromas of acetone, nuts, caramel. Taste is oak, light sweet, spice. Finishes oaky sweet. Nice.
