22/7/2023. Can shared at SBGP3. From Craft Metropolis, Penge. Pours thick black with a small frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of vanilla, dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, dark chocolate cherry liquor, slight perfumed and peppery edge. Moderate sweetness and medium developing bitterness. Cayenne peppery spice slowly comes through on the taste, as does some chocolate cherry. Full bodied, very smooth, soft carbonation. A little clammy to finish but otherwise very good.

Sample (thanks omhper!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is coconut, tonka, alcohol and some liquorice. Flavour is liquorice, coconut, chocolate, some cayenne burn, but not much. Nicely balanced.

Can at home, 11th February 23. Pours a black rich looking beer. Aroma is chocolate, light green pepper. Taste is good, chocolate, spice, cayenne, green pepper, earthy, from the Tonka, sweet and savoury. Very decent and well balanced.

ABV: 10.5%. Clear dark red brown colour with a fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, cocoa, tonka, cherry. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, cherry, perfumed - artificial, tonka, cocoa, chocolate - dark malt, warm spicy finish. IMO: a bit unbalanced. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy and sticky, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is warming. [20210506]

Panda at home, thanks to Dave, 25/04/21. Black with a good sized tan head that thins to spotting. Nose is chocolate cake, cinnamon, tonka bean, decadent chocolate cake, brown sugar scattering, nutty tones. Taste comprises rich chocolate, cacao nobs, dried berry fruits, light spice, molasses, tonka kiss, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid flavoursome stuff ... well balanced ... never too sweet.

Canned, from Beerdome. Black, small beige head. Aroma of tonka beans and caramel. Sweet with full body and rounded, somewhat viscous mouthfeel. Caramel and chocolate, tonka beans. Quite intense chili heat. Unusually tolerable pastry stout. There is even positive sides and some level of complexity.
