Magnetic North on the Winter Solstice; that’s the mind frame for this offering. Perpetual Night is our decadent Imperial Stout, comprised of a chocolate heavy grain bill, and conditioned on Vermont maple syrup, loads of toasted coconut, and coffee. Light is on the horizon

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: pure black in the glass with a superb level tan foamy head of about a finger and a quarter. This head dissipated nicely to leave some spotty coated lace on the glass
Aroma: coffee sweet and coffee roasty tones up front with dark malts, milk chocolate notes, subtle dark chocolate and then the toasted coconut and maple syrup
Flavor: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; nice smoothness along the tongue
Overall: another nicely done impy stout by Short Throw and I'm glad the coconut in this was real and didn't smell or taste like "suntan lotion" like other beers with supposedly "coconut" in them which I've had in the past. Though no dates on the can, I'm guessing I had a fresher can.

Pint can, WW. I wanted an IPA, but looks like I'm out... so wth. Thick black with a tiny brown head. Boozy chocolate, maple, coconut, caramel nose. Extremely sweet chocolate and maple, caramel, fudge brownie, coconut shavings. Whoa sweet. Nice flavor, but way too sweet. Thin carbonation.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that dissipates. Big dark chocolate and molasses aromas on the nose with some coffee as it warms up. More chocolate and coffee on the palate, not much coconut that I can pick up. Roasty, chocolate finish with lingering espresso notes.
