The YellowBelly Beer humanoids used Red X, Vienna, Munich, Pilsner and Cara Clair to give this hazy IPA its deep sun-imploding hue. Mandarina Bavaria was used in the whirlpool, with the dry hop addition a planet-sized amount of Simcoe and Summit. The resulting beer is dank and bursting with citrus fruit flavours, belonging in the West Coast of Space.

Can. Pours hazy darkish amber with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops and fruit, with touches of citrus and yeast. Bitter flavour of hops and grass, with notes of yeast and touches of malt and hints of fruit. Bitter, hoppy aftertaste, with estery notes and citric touches. Not bad but a little watery.

Can from Bottle Baron. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tea, toffee and orange peel. Flavour of basil, marzipan and orange with a slightly harsh finish. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. An unusual IPA that, for me, doesn’t quite hit the mark because I found the finish slightly boozy and astringent.
