Every August at the brewery, we roast thousands of pounds of Hatch green chiles for this beer. Frozen in giant tea bags, the green chiles are steeped in our light lager, post fermentation, for seven - ten days. The green chile infuses the beer with a mild roasted chile flavor and leaves you with just a hint of heat on the back end. Taste New Mexico!!

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear gold with paperthin white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is corn malt and chilies. Thin mouthfeel with a light spicy chili flavor with sweet corn malt. Hides the spice well, a decent spiced brew from Rio Grande.

12oz bottle opens with a whimper and pours out clear deep gold with almost no head. The aroma offers up lots of chili pepper meat with just hints of beer like notes. The taste is similar with firm levels of chili pepper meat and only mild bits of capsicum heat. The chili pepper lingers for just a moment or two when the taste just recedes away. Cool brew where the “beer” notes are at just noticeable levels but the chili pepper is delivered with lots a great aroma and flavor. Solid crisp summer time brew.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a pale yellow with a thin off-white head. The aroma is distinct chile, wheat, and light hops. The flavor is sweet and a little salty. The palate is light to medium, acidic, and a little bubbly. Overall, this is a clean and straightforward chile beer. The spiciness is mild.

Bottle from Liz. Pours gold with a white head. Medium chile aroma. Rather thin body. Flavor is a bit bready, and then there’s chile. Ok SHV beer. I could stand a bit more chile, but it tends to accumlate with time.
