[i](50 cl bottle purchased at Ambrosetti in Berlin by ekstedt)[/i]On June 14, 2008BB 12.08.08Clear dark brown color, fluffy tan head. Sweet, malty and a bit fruity scent, mostly apples. Sweet, malty, stale taste, metalic aftertaste. Metallic is actually qutie dominant feature all in all. Weak mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Re-rate from bottle. 6 4 8 4 14 Still a very nice juicy malty bock, don't quite get the extreme complexity from a decade ago. Old rating: 6 4 9 4 16 Bottle. Plums in sugar aroma. Red chestnut, light carbotated, beautiful red golden head. Slightly burned caramel start, flavor increases in intensity with each sip - layers upon layers of complex sugars, nice preserved fruit notes, just enough bitterness to keep it fresh and non-cloying. Medium body, sparkly slick mouthfeel. Now this is something else - lovely.

Bottle (thanks to joss !) Deep reddish-amber coloured, slowly collapsing fluffy tanned head; typical "Dunkel" nose: dark malt, toasted malt and some oaky hops in the background; solid sweet flavour with a delicate bitterness in the wings, medium to full bodied; molasses in the sweet-bitter finish. Decent stuff, nothing exceptional.........

Near black. Roasty and malty with balanced sweetness. Notes of burnt sugar. Long sweet/bitter finish. Powerful and well balanced.
